Dr. Michael Gomez, Professor of History at New York University, is a key advisor and a scholar who appeared in the Prince Among Slaves film. His lecture entitled, “Black Crescent: The Experience and Legacy of West African Slaves in the Americas,” highlights Prince Abdul Rahman, as well as other slave narratives from the early antebellum period.
